A normal acting pet may not be as healthy as you might think. A complete physical exam at least annually is a must to make sure your pet remains as healthy as possible.

Vaccinations need to be current to insure you pet will be protected if it is exposed to an infectious disease. A lot of information about vaccines has been in the news lately. Some of it has been true, some false, and a lot of it misleading.

Vaccinations last longer than 1 year - True
If certain vaccinations are given under ideal circumstances to a completely healthy pet, some may last several years, but not all. This can change if the circumstances aren't ideal or the pet isn't feeling particularly well that day.

Vaccinations can cause cancer or serious illness to my pet - True
Certain vaccinations have proven to cause Feline Sarcoma and others possibly cause Auto-immune anemia. BUT so do other things. Researchers now believe that the genetic make-up maybe more responsible by predisposing the animal to the problem. Researchers also believe the percentage of animals affected is LESS THAN 1%.

All pets are completely protected when vaccinated - False
Vaccine manufacturers state that not all pets are protected after vaccination. Some vaccines protect as many as 90t%, some as low as 65%. What if your pet falls into that 10-35% range? Are you willing to risk waiting several years to have your pet revaccinated?

Heartworms and intestinal parasites are extremely common, but your pet can be infested and without proper tests, you may see no symptoms until it is too late to stop the progression of serious illness.

Animals age at a rate of approximately 7 years to our 1-year. Once your pet reaches the age of 6, they are considered seniors. We now offer Wellness Exams and Wellness Profiles to provide baseline readings so we can see exactly when you pet's health begins to change.

After examining your pet, we will inform you of our assessment and make recommendations as to things we feel need to be taken care of. We will always recommend what we feel is the best protocol and when possible, at the clients request, make alternative recommendations.

Our desire is to keep you pet healthy and happy; we will do this to the best of our ability. We will keep our clients informed of the vaccinations, tests, and procedures we feel are necessary to help their pets have a long and productive life. If and when your pet becomes ill, we provide the necessary diagnostic tests and treatment to get your friend "up and running again".
